Audible Review:

I'm looking at the Audible reviews on ePinions.com and lets just say they are less than perfect. Actually a lot less than perfect at 2 1/2 out of 4 stars. This is about as bad as it can get for a company on ePinions.com. Honestly I'm shocked! One ePinions user mentions that they use deceptive advertising practices. His main concern was with the 50% off and $7.49 offers. This offer in actually means 50% off the monthly subcription rate down to $7.49 per month. The most important thing to remember with Audible.com is it's a subscription service. The user later goes on in the review concluding, "once got a free trial to Audible and downloaded a product from the site, and I was happy with what I received." So he seems happy with the product Audible provided, but didn't like the "deceptive" advertising practices.

Personally I do not think Audible is deceptive at all! I wanted to see if what this ePininions.com reviewer said rang true. I visited the ePinions.com web site clicked on the $7.49 offer and this is what I found. See screen shot below. I think this reviewer is an overzealous writer trying to plan the victim role when all he needed to do was read the details in large print. I mean to say Audible.com subscription plan is deceptive is like saying the NetFlix.com subscription plan is deceptive. The more reviews I read about Audible the more this issue of advertising comes up. This is partly contributing to the Audible.com low ePininions rating.

The Audible.com $7.49 offer is not misleading at all in my opinion:

Audible Finances:

The stock symbol for Audible is ADBL. The price of ADBL stock is currently 11.29. TheStreet.com has a hold recommendation on the stock. Audible.com in the past 12 months has seen a 32.5% growth in annual sales at $102 million. The net profit on these sales in the past 12 months is -3.1%. Audible.com according to Standard & Poor's has 152 employees.
.
What I think of Audible.com:

I would never purchase an audio book in MP3/downloadable form. I feel buying audio books from eBay.com is much more cost effective. Here's a plus the new Amazon.com Kindle can play Audible.com’s AA format. The price for Audible is cheap enough per month for me to recommend them. The convenience is also another benefit. So why download from Audible over iTunes? I'd say convenience and selection. Audible.com specializes in one thing and they will make it as easy as possible for you to find and download what you're looking for. In general I think the cost of downloadable MP3/audio is currenly a rip off at the $0.99 industry standard and this isn't even for DRM-Free audio for the most part!
