What is Chegg.com:

Save on the rip off/scam that is the college textbook business all the while being socially conscious

Chegg.com is one of the best ideas to come out in a long while. I wish Chegg.com was around when I was in college. Basically Chegg lets you rent your text books instead of buying them saying you hundreds if not thousands during the course of 4+ years away in college. Chegg will also plant a tree for you! I don't know about you, but if I can rent a textbook and get a tree planted in my name all in one shot sign my ass up. They don't say what kind of tree, but I'm assuming it's a high qulaity one. Chegg doesn't require a monthly fee, you simply pay a set up front rental fee for the book and return it when you're done. Renting books saves trees. Did you know that 40% of the materials found in landfills are paper products. Rent from Chegg and now you won't feel that environmental guilt that's so prevalent on college campuses.

Chegg.com Review:

Great idea for a web site. I like the idea of trading and renting. Only downside is limited selection. Don't get me wrong Chegg is the largest rental site for college textbooks, but there will always be that one class who has an overachieving professor that wrote the class book. On Nov 7, 2007 Chegg.com announced there very own affiliate program. Around Aug 16, 2007 or so Chegg said that they were going to plant a tree for every textbook rented.

Finances:

Private company so I have no idea how much they make.
