In 1999 Scott Blum left Buy.com just before the company went public. After the stock plummeted in 2001 Scott Blum required the company and took it private (Wikipedia.org). As far as electronics go Buy.com has it all, but they don't have as much stock of everything as Amazon.com does. Buy.com claims to have over 2 million items listed in their store. Buy.com vowed that they will always beat Amazon.com's price for books. In May 2006 Neel Grover was appointed to CEO. Review: Compared to what Buy.com was only a few years ago they have improved dramatically. Buy.com is now one of my favorite places to shop. The new look of the site, new larger selection, and new lower prices all make Buy.com one of the best sites on the Internet. It's not just me who likes Buy.com more if you look at the Alexa.com traffic statistics you can see Buy.com ranks at the top of its all time traffic score. One of the reasons for their recent increase in popularity with consumers is the Google Checkout promotion where Google is offering $10 off $30 or now $20 off $50. These deals make items that lets say are $50 with a $30 rebate free after Google Checkout. These door buster deals get picked up by sites like SlickDeals.net and tons of people buy these products. The SlickDeals forums are pushing a lot of buyers Buy.com's way. SlickDeals.net ranks 586 in traffic by Alexa.com. To give you a perspective Buy.com ranks 563 so SlickDeals is a huge player in the Internet world.  Positives: Visit the "Hot Deals" section of the Buy.com to save lots of money. The Hot Deals section lists the current most popular items on Buy.com. Many times these items have rebates or additional discounts making them free or close to that.
